Games in education can deliver a valuable contribution to development of knowledge and they create more insight in various difficult subjects. I found a very nice game some years back. You could play it from cd-rom and online. Those people were way ahead of their time. They had funny mathematics, history and other educational subject going. All through a very inviting interactive approach.
Because I feel that you can never write or think enough about this subject I will continue to do so right here. It is a really nice thing to do. Who amongst you already has a lot of experience with games in the educational field? Would be very nice to hear from you.
Serious Gaming serious? Yes, very serious, serious enough for TNO (research organization) wrote a report about it. The role these games play will become larger over the years to come. The TNO report explains that there are still threats to success that need to be conquered, especially in education and health care. I am convinced that this is because there is not enough experience yet. Organizations that are already familiar with these games are generally very enthusiastic about it. I am already actively involved with the creation, strategy and distribution of these games. If you have a question, please let me know.
The larger audience is getting the hang of it. And I don’t mean the consumers, they know for a very long time already. Games! It would be foolish not to consider using games in your marketing plans. Give them bread and circuses, sorry… games has been going strong ever since the Romans and not without reason.
It could be an advergame, an interactive quiz, a gamercial, a flashy iphone app or a game on a very, very big screen, controlled with your mobile like in the clip below…
Wait it out to see if it will happen between games and marketing? That will increase the chance that you will miss out. Games are claiming their territory, and they should! And, who wouldn’t like to play a relaxing game every now and then?
